Architect- Cork - ROI

Our client is a progressive and dynamic building and civil engineering company based in Cork, Ireland. They are a market leader and recognised for their commitment to quality and innovative approach.  Due to an increase in workload, they have a requirement for an Architect to join their dynamic design team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead an Architectural team within the company
  • Work collaboratively with technical consultants, project managers, engineers and other stakeholders to take projects from concept to completion stage
  • Responsible for the preparation and development of detailed construction models and drawings
  • Develop, draught and issue Planning Drawings/Applications, respond to RFI’s as required
  • Ensure designs are completed in accordance with timelines, quality and cost objectives
  • Advise on Building Regulations as needed
  • Develop concept drawings for projects with emphasis on current Fire Regulations
  • Work with other design disciplines to ensure works are designed and phased in the correct manner
  • Ensure clear coordination with other aspects of projects
  • Attend, lead and minute appropriately Design Team Meetings in orderly and efficient manner
  • Attend and lead architectural reviews at key stages of the design process
  • Specifying the appropriate technology and tools to be used in the design of projects
  • Liaise and provide support to on-site teams
  • Ability to respond to issues/opportunities that arise as may be required
  • Guide and manage junior members of the team and their output

Criteria

  • Proactive Architect with experience in all stages of project delivery and design
  • Appropriate Architectural qualifications and active member of the RIAI
  • A minimum of 5 years of senior design experience in Ireland or UK
  • Excellent knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD/Google Sketchup, Point Clouds etc. is essential
  • Excellent knowledge of BIM processes is essential
  • Creative and innovative design skills
  • Complete knowledge of the lifecycle of building design
  • Demonstrated experience designing projects from concept stage through to completion across different sectors
  • Experience as a Design Certifier/Assigned Certifier desirable
  • Excellent knowledge of Irish Planning Requirements, Building Regulations and Building Control (Amendment) Regulations, in particular Fire Regulations etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and a variety of tasks at once
  • Demonstrated project experience to include a variety of medium to large-scale projects
  • Experience in monitoring ongoing site construction works
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent planning, organisational, teamwork and presentation skills
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
