Job Title – Assistant Production Manager

About the Company:
Are you an experience Assistant Production Manager? Then this is the role for you. Our client here at Inform3 are looking for a candidate with strong experience and knowledge within the Food Manufacturing sector to join their expanding team.
You will be working closely with the Production Manager, this role assists in leading production teams, improving operational processes, maintaining compliance with food safety regulations, and achieving production KPIs.
Duties Involve:
- Assist the Production Manager in planning, organising, and managing daily production schedules to meet targets.
- Monitor production lines, respond to operational challenges, and ensure minimal downtime.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality standards across all production activities.
- Support the supervision and development of production supervisors, line leads, and operatives.
- Assist with the onboarding, induction, and skills training of new production staff.
- Manage attendance, timekeeping, and minor disciplinary issues in line with company policies, escalating as appropriate.
- Liaise with Procurement, Supply Chain, NPD, and technical teams to align production activities with business needs.
- Ensure all production activities meet food safety, quality, and customer standards.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate production and compliance documentation as required.
- Support the preparation of daily and weekly production reports for senior management.
- Take ownership of assigned KPIs, including line efficiency, waste levels, yield, and downtime.
- Conduct and participate in regular safety audits, risk assessments, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Skills Required:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in food science, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field; relevant experience will also be considered.
- 4 years’ experience in a food production, FMCG, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a supervisory, team leader, or junior management role preferred.
- Certification in HACCP or a related food safety program is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work early, late, and weekend shifts as required.
- Excellent communication skills.
