About the Company:

Out client here at Inform3 based in Co. Limerick have a requirement for an Assistant Quality Manager to join their team.

The Assistant Quality Manager in food manufacturing will support the Quality Manager by ensuring compliance with food safety standards (BRC, HACCP), managing quality assurance (QA/QC) teams, and driving continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include auditing, investigating non-conformances, managing supplier compliance, and maintaining documentation.

Role Includes:

  • Oversee daily Quality Assurance operations, maintain QMS, ensure compliance with BRC/IFS/FSSC 22000 standards, and manage audits.
  • Monitor factory hygiene, HACCP, and pest control; audit GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and ensure all products meet customer/retailer specifications.
  • Investigate product, ingredient, or packaging failures, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions (CAPA).
  • Audit suppliers, verify Certificates of Analysis (COA), and inspect incoming materials for suitability.
  • Train staff on food safety, hygiene, and quality procedures. Deputise for the Quality Manager and supervise QC technicians.
  • Manage customer complaints and liaise with technical teams regarding product development (NPD)

Requirements:

  • 2+ years’ experience in Quality role preferably in food business.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of auditing and quality standards (FSSC).
  • Extensive knowledge of quality management techniques such as HACCP, and knowledge of food legislation and legal procedures.
  • Ability to work part of a team to ensure high standards are established and maintained in the factory.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to react well under pressure.
  • Experience in specifications / documentation.
  • Team player to grow with the business and take on responsible roles
  • Knowledge of ISO14001.
