Automation Engineer - Louth

Automation Engineer             Dundalk, Co. Louth       €30-60K DOE

A Manufacturing Company located in Dundalk, County Louth are currently expanding their team and are currently looking for an Automation Engineer to join their expanding team.

The role offers the chance to be part of a close-knit team, while developing your own knowledge and skills. The individual should be highly motivated with a willingness to succeed within the company as they expect pace, cooperation and accountability.

You will be tasked the development, commissioning and support of automation control systems across a wide spectrum of industries utilising cutting edge technologies.

Roles & Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for all controls and automation equipment and systems.
  • Safeguard the automation process in respect of safe operations through regular checks and update of control systems.
  • Assess existing technologies and processes.
  • Design and deliver best in class automation solutions.
  • Software development of bespoke machines & manufacturing systems.
  • Support and communicate effectively with the Engineer Manager with defining work packages, planning and organising automation activities.
  • Work closely with the automation team, developers, project designers, electricians and operations.
  • Ensure quality in projects for usability, reliability and manufacturability.
  • To design electrical control systems for specific customer requirements and to make sure they are of industry standards.
  • To identify any root causes of automation faults/breakdowns and prioritise corrective measures to meet the operational processing objectives.
  • Complete all documentation to the highest quality and oversee all acceptance testing.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Third Level qualification in Electrical/Automation/Mechanical/Electronic Computer Science.
  • Knowledge of Robotics and safety standards an advantage.
  • Industry experience with preference for Rockwell Studio 5000, FT View, Ignition, Siemens TIA Portal/Step7, OSI PI Historian, VBA.
  • Thorough knowledge of automation principles and procedures.
  • Excellent Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication.
  • Positive attitude towards work with a willingness to continually learn.
  • Well organised approach to work.
