Automation Technician              Co. Westmeath          

INFORM3 are currently recruiting for a Automation Technician to join our client based in County Westmeath expanding team that specialise in designing and manufacturing capital equipment.

The role offers the chance to be part of a close-knit team, while developing your own knowledge and skills. The individual should be highly motivated with a willingness to succeed within the company as they expect pace, cooperation and accountability.

You will be tasked with providing effective processes including scope and concept generation throughout the development processes and to ensure the company remain a market leader within the industries they work in.

Duties Include:

  • To liaise with customers and interpret their needs, to assist with developing proposals for equipment.
  • To design machine control systems, source materials and project manage the control system build.
  • Evaluate projects and make recommendations to design/manufacturing staff
  • Plan, write, test and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, servo (etc.) software using company standard methods and conventions (mainly Siemens & Allen Bradley)
  • Develop programs for robots (mainly ABB & Fanuc)
  • Design and integrate safety systems according to EU standards.
  • Perform equipment testing on control components and systems (in-house and at the customer’s site as needed).
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide Project Manager with timely status reports of assignments.
  • Complete all necessary project documentation for the Technical Files for projects.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Solid understanding and experience of all Mechanical aspects of machinery.
  • Level 7 Degree in Electronics/Automation/Mechatronics/Software Development.
  • HMI/PLC experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi).
  • Electrical, pneumatic hydraulic design (ePlan).
  • Excellent Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication.
  • Positive attitude towards work with a willing ness to continually learn.
  • Well organised approach to work.
  • Current Driver’s License to travel to other sites.
