INFORM3 are currently recruiting for an Automation Technician to join our client based in County Offaly.

The Automation Technicians report to the Automation Engineer and carry responsibility for achieving challenging maintenance, engineering, commercial, safety, environmental, quality and personal development targets.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on automation, control, and instrumentation systems to maximise plant reliability and availability.
- Inspect, calibrate, and maintain process instrumentation, including pressure, flow, level, pH, analytical instruments, and emissions monitoring equipment.
- Troubleshoot automation and control system faults, identify root causes, and implement effective long-term solutions.
- Provide technical support to operations teams by responding to alarms and equipment failures.
- Install new instrumentation and modify DCS, SCADA, HMI, and PLC control systems to support plant improvements and operational changes.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and quality documentation using the Maintenance Management System (MMS).
- Support commissioning, plant outages, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and maintenance effectiveness.
- Manage spare parts requirements and ensure control systems remain reliable and up to date.
- Work safely in compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards while contributing to team performance and personal development.
Criteria Required:
- 5+ years’ Solid understanding and experience of all Automation Equipment, Software or related experience.
- Level 7 Degree in Electronics/Automation/Mechatronics/Software Development.
- Proficient in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation PLC products with an ability to understand complex programming functions and write code from specification.
- Good understanding of Motion Control Systems (Allen Bradley, Emerson, Linmot).
- Experience of development, deployment & maintenance of SCADA / HMI systems (Allen Bradley, Schneider).
- Excellent Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication.
- Positive attitude towards work with a willing ness to continually learn.
- Well organised approach to work.
- Current Driver’s License.
