BIM Technician - Derry / Londonderry

Our client is a leading residential contractor with almost 50 years of construction experience. Due to an increase in their workload, they require a conscientious BIM Technician to join their busy team. This role offers an excellent career opportunity working with a company

Job Responsibilities

You will be responsible for producing high quality BIM models and drawings and work in conjunction with design teams on projects from concept to completion. To include:

 

  • Produce new models and amend existing models for house types, apartment types and Site Layouts
  • Produce quantity take-off schedules suitable for the QS/ Commercial department tendering process from the models
  • Produce construction drawings for Building Control plan approval and Working Drawings for site, from the models
  • Coordination of foundation design, timber frame design, structural fabrication and M&E designs into the model
  • Running Clash Detection to ensure that design flaws are corrected and compliant to building standards and codes
  • Develop families, asset information, and other elements to utilise the features available with the Revit software to enhance day to day operation efficiencies
  • Setting up and managing Common Data Environments (CDE)
  • Implementing BIM Protocols to external Designers/ members of Design Team
  • Working with others to develop a BIM Execution Plan for the Company,

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Commercial experience working within a similar role
  • Strong practical knowledge and experience in Revit, Navisworks, Autocad and other BIM software
  • Knowledge of the house building industry and construction details associated
  • Ability to self manage and self motivate, with good organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
