Position: Building Services Mechanical Engineer

Salary: 50-60k depending on experience.


The role will report into the directors and the Mechanical and Electrical leadership team and will involve the design of every stage of the project lifecycle, from the initial project briefing through to construction and onto final sign-off. The role will provide input into the overall running of projects to ensure successful project delivery and the ongoing development of the M&E team’s effective project management and technical capability.

The candidate shall be capable of:

The candidate shall possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Be degree qualified in Building Services / Mechanical engineering with 5 to 10 years of relevant design and consultancy experience in building services projects.
  • Preferably be chartered with a recognised professional institution (e.g. Engineers Ireland, CIBSE) or be on route to chartership
  • Be committed to continuous professional development (CPD), both for own development as well as that of team members
  • Be experienced in design using Revit in the BIM environment ( not essential)
  • Be experienced in design using computer simulation software such as IES ( not essential)
  • Knowledge and interest in the implementation of sustainability measures in designs in compliance with NZEB
  • Have considerable technical design experience in all areas of Mechanical design across many project types including industrial, commercial, education retail & hospitality, healthcare, etc.
  • Have considerable knowledge of the consulting experience and successful project management experience in the M&E sector both in buildings and in infrastructure
  • Good working knowledge of relevant legislations, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines
  • Ideally have a well-developed network of client contacts (or the development of this within this position)

  • Keen sense of maintaining high standards, and a strong desire to motivate the same in others
  • Keen understanding of ‘customer’ needs and a strong ability to effectively manage the issues which may impact on maintaining effectiveness within a commercial environment
  • Organised and adaptable with a flexible approach to work
