Buyer / Quantity Surveyor – Tyrone

The Company

If you are looking for some variety in the work that you are doing day to day, I have a client looking for an individual with a Quantity Surveying background who will take on aspects of buying and procurement. Both roles will require an individual with excellent communication and negotiation skills, a knowledge of the Irish construction industry. You will be joining a recognised contractor with an impressive list of clients in their work portfolio.

Must work on own initiative and be driven to succeed. 

Buyer / Quantity Surveyor Role

• Sending purchase orders to suppliers.
• Correlating bills of quantities, drawings and specifications in order to create tender packages.
• Sending these packages to suppliers and receiving quotations.
• Analysing tender packages for the best supplier rates.
• Proactively expanding the current supply chain.
• Communicate with current suppliers and negotiating prices.
• Storing quotations.
• Preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tender and contracts
• Managing and valuing valuations
• Preparation of interim valuations and final accounts
• Assessing and certification of subcontractor interim payments

Buyer / Quantity Surveyor Criteria

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related.
• Demonstrable knowledge of construction product and regulation
• Demonstrable experience of market research on pricing
• Experience working as QS with civils contractor from 2 – 5 years +
