The Company

Brick and block laying construction company are expanding their purchasing team with a Junior Buyer. Due to an influx of large-scale supply and fit contracts, this contractor requires a Junior Buyer to assist the Senior Purchaser with these new contracts.  

It would be desirable to have knowledge and background in the construction industry but it is not essential. This is an ideal opportunity for someone starting out their career in purchasing with around 3 years’ experience, there is ample potential for professional development and advancing your career and skillset and experience.

The Role

• Liaising with site team and buying / ordering materials in accordance with a PO System
• Checking stock levels on site to ensure materials are delivered to meet construction programmes
• Checking invoices v dockets v orders to ensure correct rates are being charged
• Logging material orders / administrative duties
• Contacting suppliers to find best rates for materials
• Site visits will be required

Criteria

• 3+ years in a Buyer role
• Ideally background in construction but not essential.
• Demonstrable experience of market research on pricing
• Qualifications in a relevant discipline may be advantageous
