The Company

Building contractor based in Cavan working in Midlands and North East of Ireland, a busy contractor working on public and private contracts with housing, schools, healthcare centres, commercial and fit out.

Looking for an individual with a background in construction to join their office team and work collaboratively with commercial and site staff and suppliers in order to ensure an efficient and smooth-running procurement procedure is in place.

This role will offer flexible working.

The Role

• Sending purchase orders to suppliers.
• Correlating bills of quantities, drawings and specifications in order to create tender packages.
• Sending these packages to suppliers and receiving quotations.
• Analysing tender packages for the best supplier rates.
• Proactively expanding the current supply chain.
• Communicate with current suppliers and negotiating prices.
• Working closely with quantity surveyors and buyers to maintain optimum levels of communication for the effective and efficient completion of tenders.
• Storing quotations.

Criteria

• Experience in a buyer role with a construction background
• Demonstrable knowledge of construction product and regulation
• Demonstrable experience of market research on pricing
• Qualifications in a relevant discipline may be advantageous
