Opportunity for a Buyer to oversee buying in NI region for a large building contractor – Antrim

The Company

Building Contractor working across NI, Scotland and England, with a variety of projects such as education, healthcare, commercial, public works contracts etc. You will report into the Director and oversee the purchasing for NI. This role requires an individual who has exposure to purchasing ideally within construction, can prioritise their own work and work well independently. You will be given the room to develop the role yourself with room for progression.

The Role

• Liaising with site team and buying / ordering materials in accordance with a PO System
• Checking stock levels on site to ensure materials are delivered to meet construction programmes
• Checking invoices v dockets v orders to ensure correct rates are being charged
• Logging material orders / administrative duties
• Contacting suppliers to find best rates for materials
• Site visits may ne required.

Criteria

• 3+ years in a Buyer role
• Ideally background in construction but not essential.
• Demonstrable experience of market research on pricing
• Qualifications in a relevant discipline may be advantageous
