The Company

If you are looking for some variety in the work that you are doing day to day, I have a client looking for an individual with a Quantity Surveying background who will take on aspects of buying and procurement. Both roles will require an individual with excellent communication and negotiation skills, a knowledge of the Irish construction industry. You will be joining a recognised contractor with an impressive list of clients in their work portfolio. Working across healthcare, conservation and restoration and education you will be provided with an array of experience and given the scope to develop this role yourself.

Must work on own initiative and be driven to succeed. 

The Role

  • Sending purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Correlating bills of quantities, drawings and specifications in order to create tender packages.
  • Sending these packages to suppliers and receiving quotations.
  • Analysing tender packages for the best supplier rates.
  • Proactively expanding the current supply chain.
  • Communicate with current suppliers and negotiating prices.
  • Storing quotations.
  • Preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tender and contracts
  • Managing and valuing valuations
  • Preparation of interim valuations and final accounts
  • Assessing and certification of subcontractor interim payments

Criteria

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of construction product and regulation
  • Demonstrable experience of market research on pricing
  • Experience working as QS with Building contractor.
