CHP Technician         Co. Dublin               €40-45K

The CHP Technician will be responsible for the commissioning and maintenance of combined heat and power (CHP), systems. The ideal candidate will be a professional with experience in internal combustion engine and/or generator service, maintenance, repair, and overhaul.

Duties Include:

  • Monitor system performance and take daily readings of the above plant
  • Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance work on plant
  • Maintain Engineering area in terms of good house keeping
  • Contribute on identification, quantification, implementation and presentation of equipment continuous improvement projects
  • Troubleshoot equipment related process problems and equipment failures to determine cause and to investigate repairs.
  • Ensure all executed maintenance activities are recorded on MAXIMO (site CMMS)
  • Support Engineering and Operations personnel on continuous improvements and monitor equipment in order to recommend process improvements
  • Minimise downtime on equipment, through fast response, effective root cause analysis and good problem-solving techniques
  • Take part in after hours on-call roster for CHP with one other CHP technician
  • Contribute to a pleasant and positive team work atmosphere

Skills & Experience Required:

  • 4+ years’ experience or degree equivalent within Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong reciprocating engine background with the ability to display a high level of skill and understanding regarding internal combustion engines and generator sets.
  • Experience and knowledge of problem solving within an industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of maintenance of natural and bio gas boilers.
  • Formal training in reference to engines, complex mechanical & electrical systems.
  • Experience working within an ATEX environment.
  • Established risk management skills.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems.
