Civil Engineer – Northern Ireland
INFORM3 are currently recruiting a civil engineer for projects based in Northern Ireland. The candidate will work for a client with over 15 years in the construction industry. The client takes great pride in putting a fast and efficient delivery for each project. The successful candidate will need to have experience in earthworks, roads and utilities. They will be required to undertake surveying, setting out and site supervision work while keeping records of all site activities
Civil Engineer Responsibilities:
- Construction phase planning for upcoming works
- Supervision of direct and sub-contract labour working on asphalt surfacing schemes
- Management of site health & safety
- Management of materials and waste
- Planning, procurement and coordination of labour, materials, and plant
- Managing and leading by example to junior members of staff
- Understanding company policies with regard to quality and ensuring these are implemented at every level of works
- Understand quality requirements from specifications and drawings and ensure compliance with both, on site
- Keeping up to date site diaries and paperwork
- Conducting Toolbox Talks and Health and Safety Briefings
- Ensuring all staff receive full site inductions and briefings
- Ensure competence of staff
- Hold and/or attend regular review/updating meetings with the wider team
- Provide regular updates on the progress of works to the site manager
Candidate Specification:
- Civil Engineer background, 2 -4 years
- Excellent organisational communication skills
- Team player, who has the ability to self-start and work independently
- Full driving licence
- Setting out knowledge
- Commercial awareness
