INFORM3 are seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Engineer who will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of construction projects from commencement through to completion. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will coordinate engineering activities, manage technical aspects of the works and ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The role requires experience in civil engineering and building construction, together with a good understanding of mechanical and electrical (M&E) services coordination within complex building projects.

Civil Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of construction activities.
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, building regulations and contract requirements.
  • Coordinate civil, structural, architectural and M&E activities to minimise clashes and maintain programme.
  • Liaise with project managers, design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives.
  • Review engineering drawings and technical documentation, identifying and resolving construction issues.
  • Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries and engineering submissions.
  • Monitor site progress against programme and assist in implementing recovery measures where necessary.
  • Undertake site inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout construction.
  • Ensure compliance with company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) procedures.
  • Coordinate inspection and testing activities and maintain quality assurance records.
  • Support procurement by reviewing technical specifications and assisting with material selection.
  • Assist with subcontractor management, ensuring works are completed to the required standards.
  • Monitor construction tolerances, setting out requirements and as-built information.
  • Support commercial teams with measurement, valuation of completed works and change management.
  • Participate in progress meetings and prepare engineering reports where required.
  • Assist with commissioning and handover activities, ensuring documentation is completed accurately.
  • Promote continuous improvement and contribute to efficient project delivery.

 

Civil Engineer Requirements

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years' post-graduate experience in civil engineering and building construction.
  • Experience delivering medium to large-scale construction projects.
  • Good knowledge of reinforced concrete, drainage, earthworks, utilities and general building construction.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical (M&E) services coordination within building projects.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Good understanding of quality assurance processes and current Health & Safety legislation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software; AutoCAD/BIM experience is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence and valid CSCS card.
