Junior Civil Engineer

Salary: €40k – 60k

INFORM3 are recruiting for an experienced Junior Civil Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a range of major civil and marine projects across Cork and Limerick.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer with 2+ years’ experience to develop their career while gaining valuable experience on large-scale projects. The role will involve working closely with the Senior Engineering and Project Management teams, supporting the technical delivery of works on site.

Junior Civil Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setting out and surveying of works on site.
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
  • Carry out site measurements, surveys and as-built records.
  • Assist with the supervision and coordination of subcontractors and site teams.
  • Monitor works to ensure they are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
  • Assist with quality control and maintain accurate site records.
  • Support the Senior Engineer and Project Manager with the day-to-day technical delivery of the project.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of method statements, risk assessments and quality documentation.
  • Identify technical issues on site and assist with resolving them.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety and environmental requirements.
  • Assist with progress reporting and project documentation.

Junior Civil Engineer Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-graduate experience in a civil engineering or construction environment.
  • Site-based experience with a strong understanding of construction processes.
  • Experience with setting out and surveying equipment.
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using GPS / Total Station would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in civil, marine, roads, infrastructure or groundworks would be beneficial.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider project team.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and solve problems on site.
  • Full clean driving licence.
