Civil Engineer – Limerick

 

INFORM3 are looking to appoint a civil engineer, for a road project based in Limerick. The successful candidate will work on behalf of a client with a great belief in hard work and producing top quality standards on every project. The client has a wealth of over 50 years in the civil engineering industry. It is vital that the successful candidate is able to be a self-starter and be innovative in their approach to the project. The successful candidate needs to be a good communicator and have the ability to coordinate with site management and the client when appropriate. They will be required to undertake surveying, setting out and site supervision work while keeping records of all site activities.

 

Civil Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Project Manager, as the Civil Engineer you are responsible for overseeing structure activity and staff, ensuring compliance with company procedures throughout.
  • Management of sub-contractors, labourers and onsite staff
  • Management and control of plant and equipment
  • Management and control of health and safety issues
  • Understanding company policies with regard to quality and ensuring these are implemented at every level of works
  • Understand quality requirements from specifications and drawings and ensure compliance with both, on site
  • Keeping up to date site diaries and paperwork
  • Conducting Toolbox Talks and Health and Safety Briefings
  • Ensuring all staff receive full site inductions and briefings
  • Ensure competence of staff
  • Hold and/or attend regular review/updating meetings with the wider team
  • Provide regular updates on the progress of works to the site manager
  • To undertake any other duties as allocated

 

Candidate Specification:

  • Civil Engineer background
  • Excellent organizational communication skills
  • Team player, who has the ability to self-start and work independently
  • Full driving licence
  • Strong numeracy and IT skills including MS Office, Word and Excel
  • Setting out knowledge
  • Commercial awareness
