INFORM3 are seeking to appoint Civils Lead/Operation Manager, for utility projects in England. The successful candidate will work on behalf of a Northern Irish client with over 35 years’ specialist experience in the construction industry.

The client requires a someone with at least 15 years civils experience that will lead the technical and operational delivery of civil engineering projects across civil sector overseeing design execution, resource planning, safety compliance, and stakeholder communication.

This role is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives at the intersection of engineering precision and operational excellence who is able to manage civil teams, ensure projects reach targets and have strong civils knowledge.

 

Civils Lead/Operation Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the planning, execution, and close-out of civil engineering projects from start to finish
  • Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and calculations
  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary site teams and junior engineers
  • Allocate labour, equipment, and materials efficiently across projects
  • Monitor financial performance, manage forecasts, and support tendering activities
  • Ensure adherence to CDM regulations, H&S policies, and environmental standards
  • Interface with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to build strong partnerships
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement strategies for continuous improvement

 

Civils Lead/Operation Manager Job Specification:

  • 15+ years in civil engineering, including site and project management
  • Strong knowledge of UK construction standards, safety protocols, and civil infrastructure delivery
  • Proficiency in engineering and project management software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project, etc.)
  • SMSTS certification and demonstrable experience with RAMS and H&S documentation
  • Outstanding leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and ability to drive profitability while maintaining quality and safety
  • Willingness to travel
