Modular Building Contractor based in Cork have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager to take on all commercial responsibilitites and manage a small team. This contractor is known for their high end design and build of modular spaces across areas such as pharmaceuticals and life sciences, the food industry and data centres. A family run business for more than 30 years they have established their niche market and have been successfully providing quality modular buildings consisitently growing both their success and talented workforce. 


You will be assigned to the management over 15 projects annually, and will have prior experience with internal fit out projects 

There is an attractive salary, this role is fitting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor equipped and keen to advance to the next stage of their professional career. 


The Role:


  • Responsible for the management of the commercial aspects of all projects and managing the department.
  • Ensuring current pricing both internal and external supplier pricing is accurate and up to date for all product lines.
  • Provide commercial support with bids and contracts to ensure robust pricing and risk management.
  • Aid with forecasts, budgeting, trend analysis and challenge the business for variances between actuals and original business plan, referencing business KPIs.
  • Develop, implement and continually review customer requirements and obligations from a rates perspective and in line with contractual obligations.
  • Develop and maintain both internal and external working relationships
  • Responsible for the financial management of standard projects from inception, tendering, negotiating and agreeing contracts, and then commercial delivering projects 


The Criteria:

  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
  • 10+years experience
  • Proven skills in commercial awareness, client liaison, project management and team leadership;
  • Extensive understanding of the construction industry, 
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, problem solving ability, able to work to deadlines
  • IT skills, Numeracy skills, Analytical skills and attention to detail are imperative
