Contracts Manager - Building

Rightpath Recruitment is working with a leading building contractor in Ireland who would like to add to their senior management team. Operating over 40 years the company works in the new build sector, building a variety of commercial projects including; Healthcare, Education, Pharma, Retail and Hotels.

The Contracts Manager will manage the efficient and economical execution of contracts to produce the maximum return for the company and to promote repeat work with clients. There will be 2 or projects to oversee at any one time depending on the project values, Total value around €40M.

Reporting to the Construction Director, the successful applicant will work in conjunction with the Site Manager's and Quantity Surveyors to ensure construction is carried out accurately; that quality is maintained; records are kept; abortive or defective work is avoided and that satisfactory progress is achieved and the project delivered on time within budget. Provide advice, guidance and support on such matters to the Project Team, both during the pre-construction and construction phases. Negotiable salary and package with this position.

Requirements:

  • Extensive main contracting background is essential
  • Previous €10M+ project experience
  • Ability to supervise numerous projects
  • Self-motivated and hard worker
  • Strong team building skills
  • Analytical and decision-making skills
  • Technical and practical knowledge of the building industry important
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills

Duties

  • Managing project staff to establish and maintain highly motivated and dedicated project teams.
  • Monitor site progress and communicate programme and subsequent changes to all affected parties. Intervene and agree action plans to recover delays where possible.
  • Ensure timely request for and delivery of all information that is on the programme.
  • Identify variations to contract that will impact on the programme and ensure programme is revised to accommodate them.
  • Compile such reports as are required to demonstrate progress against programme and budget.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and consultants.
  • Work as part of the pre-construction team through the pre-tender & tender process
