Design Engineer                                                                                                                                                                           South Down                                                                                                                                                                            Salary: Competitive

Our client is currently recruiting for a Design Engineer with 3+ years’ experience to join their team in the South Down area, easily commutable from Armagh, Banbridge and Kilkeel.

This role would see you assist in the continual development of their existing facilities and mechanical infrastructure.

Roles Include:

• Design new parts or assemblies to meet design requirements using 3D CAD systems.
• Produce full 3D design and manufacturing package for new and current products.
• You will be flexible across the board within the engineering environment which you will expose and gain more knowledge and understanding of the business and customers.
• Develop skills and knowledge to be able to help manage and design projects.
• Revise and update existing specifications and drawings to incorporate requested design changes from engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance and reliability.
• To liaise with the end customer to ensure that specifications are met.
• Investigate customer complaints and identify the root cause as well as find a resolution to problems quickly and effectively.
• Learning all aspects within the business to help you become more involved and gather experience to become more of an engineer.
• Ensure all health and safety standards are met

Criteria:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or minimum of an HNC/HND
• Extensive relevant engineering knowledge
• Experience and in-depth knowledge in 2D and 3D design software.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.
• Knowledge of Hydraulics and electric systems
• Experience in structural design and analysis.
• Site Survey Skills
• Excellent analytical and practical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and as a team.
• Ability to work under pressure.
