Our client is a leading environmental services company and they currently require a Design Manager to join them on a prestigious project based in London.  Established for over 40 years their project portfolio is diverse including commercial, industrial projects throughout Ireland and further afield.  They pride themselves on their quality work and are committed to their people.  This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a high profile railway project in London.

Responsibilities:

  • As the Design Manager will also take the lead on Mechanical and Electrical design projects into the modular build industry using relevant software.
  • Ensuring design, procurement and construction information complies with project documentation.
  • Creating the design output using relevant software tools and verifying its compliance with Client’s specifications and contract proposal submissions to gain the most cost-effective method
  • Be the main point of contact for the Project, dealing with operational requirements, site meetings, technical drawings and any revisions that may be required
  • Assessing other potential project developments, including site visits and design user group involvement with clients to ensure the product and design is suitable for modular build requirements development of the offsite proposition and enable delivery of the digital aspects
  • Managing to agreed deadlines
  • Liaising between the Client, their Design Consultants and colleagues on design matters
  • Ensure the design process recognises compliancy issues, current legislation, standards and codes of practice

Criteria:

  • High level of experience with AutoCAD and Revit software is essential
  • Ability to prepare basic programmes to control design specifications and design inputs/outputs
  • Relevant experience in previous M&E activities with an accredited qualification in either mechanical or construction biased disciplines preferred
  • Accredited by the CIOB or similar industry desirable
  • Experience in designing plans for residential work in a contractor or developer environment
  • Some knowledge of modern methods of construction and modular systems is desirable
  • Some knowledge of plastic piping, climate and/or water management systems and products essential
