Design Manager                                                                                                                                                                              Co. Our client is looking for a design manager to lead their design team while ensuring efficient design processes in County Antrim. You would be collaborating with a range of professionals within the team to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

You would be managing construction projects from concept to completion. Expertise is essential to ensuring high quality projects are delivered and strong client relationships are maintained. The client will also provide a car allowance for the successful candidate of this role

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a range of teams to develop design strategies and plans to meet requirements.
  • Lead a team of designers responsible for creating drawings, models and specifications.
  • Ensure productivity, promote collaboration and give guidance to the team.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Maintain high quality standards by staying up to date with construction and design practices.
  • Oversee the design development process.  Review and evaluate design proposals while making adjustments to optimise the design.
  • Work with other teams to select the appropriate materials and systems, considering all the relevant factors.
  • Ensure collaboration with the fabrication team to allow for accurate translation of designs to finished products.
  • Suggesting cost-effective design alternatives without leading to compromised quality.
  • Ensure effective communication across all departments.
  • Manage design-related risk factors and develop plans for avoidance.

 

Essential Criteria

  • BSc Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the construction industry.
  • Familiarity of CAD software and proficiency in design principles, engineering drawings and architectural aesthetics.
  • Good knowledge of the properties and capabilities of construction materials.
  • Good Health and Safety regulation knowledge.
  • Strong leadership and management skills as well as familiarity of project management principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • MSc Degree in Façade Engineering.
