Inform3 are currently recruiting for a Document Controller based in the Newry area. They will be responsible for managing, organising, and maintaining company documentation across projects and internal functions. The role ensures accurate control of documents, version management, compliance with quality standards, and smooth information flow between stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have high attention to detail and accuracy with a strong understanding of document control standards, version control, and ISO procedures.


Document Controller Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update project documents according to company procedures, ensuring correct formatting, naming conventions, and numbering.
  • Track revisions, approvals, and document status, and manage all incoming and outgoing documentation (drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, correspondence).
  • Maintain and administer document control systems such as SharePoint, EDMS, Aconex, Asite, and ensure teams follow established workflows and standards.
  • Issue updated drawings and documents to internal teams and contractors, keeping document registers accurate and up to date.
  • Support project managers and engineers with document retrieval and distribution, and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain required documentation.
  • Ensure all documents meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements, support audits, and help develop document control procedures.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and HSE, act as the main contact for document queries, and support integration of document control processes for new projects.

 

Document Controller Specification:

  • Experience as a Document Controller (construction, engineering, manufacturing, or similar sector preferred).
  • Strong understanding of document control standards, version control, and ISO procedures.
  • Proficient with document management platforms (SharePoint, Aconex, EDMS, etc.).
  • Excellent IT skills (MS Office Suite).
  • Strong organizational and administrative capabilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities.
