Our client is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their Electrical Engineering Design team in County Antrim to take on responsibility to support the further development of their Electrical Engineering Design.

Working as part of the team the successful candidate shall deliver and support from initial to concept planning through to detailed design, responsible for overseeing your own projects and working to your own initiative. You must be able to plan, organise and prioritise their own work within a team, this is a wide-ranging role and a willingness to question and learn will be essential.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Carry out work within a team environment with the overall vehicle development making sure that all systems and components are completed for the design.
  • Use the PLC application software for the design and development of vehicle control systems.
  • To undertake technical assessments and analyse all components to help improve the vehicle requirements.
  • Coordinate with the manufacturing team on a day-to-day basis to help improve and reduce the cost of manufacture.
  • Implement and design certain specification of the control systems.
  • Ensure that all products within the company are within the required standards regulations of the company.
  • Undertake and carry out general Health & safety regulations and ensure they are met on a daily basis.
  • To design and implement hardware components for the use of substations.
  • Design, and develop CAN communications systems and architecture.
  • Ensure that you deal with customer problems and provide them with any assistance that is required.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manage the progress to meet timing, specification and engineering requirements.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • 3+ years’ experience or Degree equivalent in Software/Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Design and Manufacture.
  • Use of software programmes and PLC.
  • Understanding of classification systems and BOM’s desirable.
  • Experience with 2D CAD.
  • Display excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative and effectively make smart decisions relating to the projects.
