Estimator – Intermediate to Senior

Rightpath Recruitment is working with a leading Building & Civil Engineering Contractor who has the requirement for an intermediate to Senior Estimator. The award-winning company has built an excellent reputation within both the Irish and UK market for delivering high quality projects up to the value of £200M. They are a market leader in the building of; Pharma & Medteck, Industrial, Hotels, Student Accommodation and Healthcare. With this position they require someone with the minimum of 3 years’ experience in an estimating position, working on new build and high rise residential.

You will be responsible for the preparation and subsequent negotiation of tender submissions for a range of prestigious Building Projects. Your range of duties include:

  • Issuing tender packages to sub-contractors and suppliers, ensuring all the relevant information is provided.
  • Produce tender report in preparation for tender adjudication.
  • Make necessary copies of drawings and specification as directed by management.
  • Measuring & ‘Taking-Off’ quantities from drawings.
  • Arrange and attend site visits with sub-contractors.
  • List tender enquires.
  • Set up a cost plan for the project.
  • Produce take-offs and measure specific items.
  • Assist with the final compilation of tenders.
  • Ensure documentation is collated and stored in line with Company policies.
  • Carry out any reasonable request of a similar nature as directed by Senior Management.

What you need to apply:

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (preferred)
  • Electronic measuring and standard methods of measurement experience
  • Numerically minded with a sound commercial acumen
  • A confident communicator with demonstrable interpersonal skills and workplace relationships
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines
