The Company
Tier 1 main contractor on the look-out for a QS with a good level of experience within a similar role. Based across Ireland and working in both public and private sectors with high profile clients. This contractor has established a good reputation and rewards their staff through training, development and promotion. Working across areas such as commercial, healthcare, residential, educational, also civils and office fit.
It is vital that the candidate has great communication skills both verbally and written, and have the ability to manage and build relationships between clients and internal teams.
The Role
- Liaise with customers and project managers
- Cost Management, ensuring the projects remains in budget
- Prepare tendering projects
- Management of commercial and contractual aspects of relationships with customers, consultants and subcontractors
- Prepare tendering projects
- Preparing interim valuations, identifying and valuing variations
- Compile and issue invitations to tender, analyse subcontractor quotations and make recommendations for placement of orders
- Attend pre-contract meetings, liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of jobs
- Manage project performance and report to management team
- Work closely with contract and site management staff to support the smooth running of the office and the site, carrying out other duties as required
- Carry out reconciliation of cost and value to date/forecast to keep the management team informed of project performance
What you need
- Hold Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
- Highly motivated hard-working individual who can work on their own or as part as a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Great communication skills both verbal and written
- 5+ Year’s Experience
