Food Manufacturing Production Manager, Galway

A leading company in the food industry, with nearly a century of experience, has grown from a small local operation focused on customer service and high quality to a nationwide business that still maintains core family values. We are currently seeking a Skilled and Dedicated Production Manager for an area of our clients’ growing business.

Role Overview:

The Production Manager will be responsible for planning, leading, directing, and monitoring all production and maintenance activities to maximize resource use, deliver finished goods to meet customer demand, and adhere to production specifications and schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Optimize efficiency and labor utilization across all facets of production.
  • Manage all production-related data, including downtime, waste, process sheets, non-conformances, and on-hold logs.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety and quality assurance standards.
  • Lead daily production meetings with supervisors, maintenance, quality assurance, and material supply teams.
  • Ensure production parameters consistently yield high-quality products.
  • Monitor and control costs to stay within budget.
  • Oversee attendance, punctuality, and annual leave.
  • Conduct employee appraisals, probationary reviews, and ongoing performance management.
  • Address employee concerns and manage disciplinary matters with the Factory Manager and HR.
  • Propose new initiatives and establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training matrices.
  • Ensure zero-waste handling and utilization of all ingredients and finished products.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience leading a team in a similar industry role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead team-based problem-solving.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, optimistic, and can-do attitude.
  • Leadership skills to encourage ownership and responsibility among team members.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and process improvement skills.

This role Is a Monday to Friday role, no shifts and a competitive base salary with further opportunity for progression.
