Civil Engineer – Northern Ireland
Freelance role
INFORM3 are looking to appoint a civil engineer, completing Water Infrastructure projects in Northern Ireland. The client has 40 years of knowledge within their team and is a specialist in the industry for the UK and Ireland. The Civil Engineer will be required to undertake surveying, setting out and site supervision work while keeping records of all site activities.
The Civil Engineer will ideally come from a Water or Utilities background.
First project is based in North Dublin for two months then Northern Ireland after that long term.
Civil Engineer Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for overseeing structure activity and staff, ensuring compliance with company procedures throughout. Regularly report to the project manager.
- Management of sub-contractors, labourers and onsite staff
- Management and control of plant and equipment
- Management of health and safety on site
- Understanding company policies with regard to quality and ensuring these are implemented at every level of works
- Understand quality requirements from specifications and drawings and ensure compliance with both, on site
- Keeping up to date site diaries and paperwork
- Conducting Toolbox Talks and Health and Safety Briefings
- Ensuring all staff receive full site inductions and briefings
- Ensure competence of staff
- Hold and/or attend regular review/updating meetings with the wider team
- Provide regular updates on the progress of works to the site manager
Candidate Specification:
- Civil Engineer background
- 3 years’ plus experience in a similar role
- Experience in Water or Utilities
- Full driving licence
- Setting out knowledge
