About the Company:
The Head of Manufacturing will lead all production and manufacturing operations across the business, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of customer orders.
The role is responsible for driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and manufacturing performance to support the company's strategic objectives.
The role will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the company's reputation for quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, while ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all manufacturing and production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Build and develop high-performing manufacturing teams through effective leadership, coaching, and succession planning.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, efficiency, quality, waste reduction, and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Sales, and other departments to ensure effective operational performance.
- Manage manufacturing budgets, capital expenditure projects, and resource planning.
- Support new product introduction and process innovation initiatives.
- Lead change management programmes that improve operational capability and business performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- A Master's degree (MBA, MSc Engineering, or Operations Management) is often desirable but not essential.
- Significant manufacturing leadership experience ideally with several years in a senior management role.
- Proven track record of leading production operations, improving productivity, and delivering operational excellence.
- Experience managing large teams and developing high-performing manufacturing organisations.
- Experience in budget management, capital projects, and strategic planning.
- Excellent communication skills.
