Head of Procurement - Down

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Purchasing to join our client’s team who are based in County Down that is easily commutable from Banbridge and Newry.

This role is suited to someone who has 3-5 years’ experience and has the ability to learn on the job and work within a great team that strive for improvement.

Roles Include:

• To negotiate the best terms, ensure overall business objective are met and to control and maintain any relevant and updating of all systems that are required.
• To deal with and prioritise all invoices and purchasing orders that are requested and ensure formal and up-to-date contracts of trading are in place.
• To deal with customers on a regular basis face-to-face or on the phone and assist with anything that may require.
• To prepare and review Purchasing Agreements/Contracts and Service Agreements as well as run a monthly report showing variances against budget cost.
• Be responsible for reporting and developing regular reports on a daily basis including a profit improvement plan to deliver incremental procurement savings.
• To complete all tenders within the time frame that is required.
• Work together with the Quality team to ensure best practices are set in place.
• To adhere to the companies Rules & Regulations and follow them accordingly.

Essential Criteria:

• 3+ years’ experience within a Purchasing Manager role within a high-volume processing environment.
• Degree in procurement (Desirable).
• Team Player
• Knowledge of purchasing processes.
• Excellent Customer Service relations.
