We are currently recruiting a Health & Safety Officer for our client who is based in South Down. The client takes great interest in their staff and values hard work which they reward in kind with the opportunity to grow and progress within the company.

The role comes with an attractive package an dis easily commutable from Banbridge, Kilkeel and Dundalk.

What you will be Responsible for:

  • Delivering Health & Safety contracts and policies.
  • Ensure inspections of projects are regularly undertaken in accordance with agreements and report any action points to the Project Manager and the business.
  • Complete inspection reports to a high standard.
  • Upload and send inspection reports to the relevant people within the business.
  • Complete, review and consultation relating to the COSHH assessment process.
  • Complete, review and consultation relating to the DSEAR process.
  • Assist to maintain the document controls required to maintain compliance with IS0 9001, 14001, 45001 system
  • Recommend prioritised actions in respect to safety improvements.
  • Responsible for facilitating continuous improvement in all aspects of the sites as required.
  • Carry out internal monitoring of environmental hazards such as noise, odour, and dust.
  • Review and monitor existing polices.
  • Design and deliver toolbox talks.

What Skills you Will need for the Role:

  • Hold a degree / HND / HNC level qualification in Environmental Health or a relevant subject.
  • Have 3+ years’ experience in a Health & Safety role.
  • NEBOSH certification – preferred
  • Member of IOSH Technical member or above
  • Experience of working to ISO standards.
  • Must hold a current valid driving license and be willing to travel as there may be a requirement to support or cover other operations
  • Interest in Environmental aspect
  • Good communication skills, ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent influencing skills.
