Health & Safety Officer

INFORM3 are recruiting for a confident and experienced Health and Safety Officer to join a busy civils Contractor based in Waterford.

 

Health & Safety Officer Responsibilities:

  • Conducting site safety inspections.
  • Performing Risk Assessments and completing Method Statements as needed.
  • Ensuring adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintaining registers of site safety inductions and training records for all employees and subcontractors.
  • Coordinating with Site Managers to ensure Health and Safety documentation is current on-site.
  • Maintaining the accident and dangerous occurrence register and tracking remedial actions.
  • Investigating accidents and dangerous occurrences.
  • Ensuring compliance with accredited ISO standards.
  • Completing pre-qualification questionnaires and tenders.
  • Assisting in compiling site-specific health and safety documents and organizing site safety folders and files.
  • Developing Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safety Alerts, and other necessary health and safety documents.
  • Participating in meetings with clients and internal team meetings.
  • Attending training courses, such as Train the Trainer, and subsequently developing and delivering internal training and toolbox talks.
  • Addressing general health and safety issues as they arise.

 

Health & Safety Officer Specification:

  • Possess a relevant 3rd Level EHS qualification or equivalent.
  • Have 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Experience working in the construction sector.
