Our prestigious client has a new opening available due to growth and expansion.  As the Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the workplace is safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and Managing Policies: Craft and embed legal health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) policies and procedures to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Guidance and Risk Mitigation: Provide legal and technical guidance, create initiatives to mitigate risks from changing HSE legislation, and engage stakeholders to foster a safety-focused culture.
  • Incident Investigation and Coaching: Educate site teams on effective incident investigation, provide coaching, and lead committees across all levels.
  • Stakeholder Management: Coordinate relationships with local stakeholders (HSE, customers, auditors), ensuring compliance and successful enforcement visits and audits.
  • Project Implementation: Apply detailed knowledge to timely and correctly address HSE matters in capital projects.
  • Audit and Performance: Lead HSE audits, maintain embedded management systems, and recommend improvements.
  • Establish strategic and tactical plans for HSE risk management.
  • Drive culture change and accountability at all levels.
  • Conduct effective investigations and improve claims defensibility.
  • Communicate effectively and engage external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance through technical expertise and internal audits.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ideally educated to degree level or holds relevant professional qualifications in Health and Safety management.
  • Experience in Health and Safety management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Practitioner member of IEMA or working towards an Environmental qualification.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing technical development and knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation.
  • Additional knowledge of occupational health is desirable.
  • Exhibit focused, supportive, decisive, and relationship-building behaviours.
