Junior Civil Engineer – Site/Office

Inform3 are recruiting for a Junior Civil Engineer to support the delivery of rail infrastructure and civil engineering projects across Louth/Meath.

This role offers a balanced mix of office-based design and planning duties alongside practical site experience, providing an excellent foundation for developing core civil engineering skills within the rail sector.

Junior Civil Engineer Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of civil engineering solutions for rail projects (e.g. drainage, earthworks, structures, and track support systems)
  • Produce and review technical drawings, calculations, and reports
  • Support the preparation of design documentation, method statements, and risk assessments
  • Undertake site visits to carry out inspections, surveys, and quality checks
  • Monitor site activities to ensure works are delivered in line with design specifications and health & safety standards
  • Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Assist in resolving engineering and construction issues on-site and in design stages
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities, materials, and progress

Junior Civil Engineer Requirements:

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Basic understanding of civil engineering principles (e.g. structural behaviour, geotechnics, drainage)
  • Strong interest in infrastructure and rail projects
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Good organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work on-site in varying conditions as well as in an office environment
  • Full Irish driving licence (preferred)
