Junior Engineer

Job Location: North Dublin

INFORM3 Recruitment are recruiting for a Junior Engineer to support the delivery of a major rail infrastructure modernisation programme involving multidisciplinary engineering coordination, systems integration, and infrastructure enhancement works within a complex operational environment for a busy civils contractor.

This role is ideal for an engineer looking to develop experience within rail and infrastructure projects while working alongside experienced project teams across design, construction, and commissioning phases.

Junior Engineer – Key Responsibilities

  • Support site engineering and project delivery teams across rail infrastructure work packages
  • Assist with reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
  • Help monitor construction activities to ensure work is completed in line with project requirements
  • Support coordination between civils, track, utilities, signalling, and communications teams
  • Assist with identifying technical issues and reporting them to senior engineers and project management
  • Participate in site inspections, surveys, and quality checks
  • Support engineering teams during construction, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, reports, and site documentation
  • Assist with preparing progress updates and daily/weekly reports
  • Monitor workmanship and help ensure quality standards are achieved on site
  • Support health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures across the project
  • Attend site meetings, toolbox talks, and coordination workshops
  • Assist with construction planning, sequencing, and site logistics activities
  • Work collaboratively with subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders
  • Develop understanding of railway standards, infrastructure delivery, and operational site environments

Junior Engineer – Requirements

  • Degree qualified or working towards qualification in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related discipline
  • Previous placement, graduate, or site experience within civil engineering or infrastructure projects advantageous
  • Interest in rail, transport, or major infrastructure projects
  • Basic understanding of construction methods and engineering principles
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a multidisciplinary project environment
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team within a fast-paced construction environment
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic engineering software advantageous
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements on construction sites desirable
  • Full driving licence advantageous
