Junior Estimator – Galway

The Company

I have a fantastic opening for a Junior Estimator or Junior Quantity Surveyor seeking a promising career in Estimating!

You will be joining a well-established building contractor who have won prestigious awards for their efforts investing in mentoring and training staff.

You will join the tender bid team and work closely with the Senior Estimators for guidance and support.

This role would suit an ambitious individual with drive and enthusiasm to challenge themselves in their career. You will be involved in a variety of different bids from commercial, healthcare, pharma and industrial to residential.

The Role

• Review and assessment of tender documentation including interpreting drawings, specifications, reports and general scope of works requirements.
• Preparation of consultant, subcontractor and material packages for pricing using latest estimating software.
• Review and preparation of consultant, subcontractor and materials cost analysis for cost comparison purposes. Continuous management of tender documents.
• Pricing and review of preliminaries items for review by senior management. Assistance in the completion and return of tender documents.
• Assistance in the preparation of project handover reports including collation of the necessary and associated documentation.
• Preparation and maintenance of estimating data for reports and tender application.

Criteria

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction related discipline
• At least 1 year experience
• Preferably background with Main Contracting
• Excellent communication skills
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and against tight deadlines
• Full clean driver license.
