Junior Manufacturing Engineer                  Co. Louth                €35-45K

A leading Manufacturing company located in County Louth are currently looking for a Junior Manufacturing Engineer to join their expanding team. The successful candidates will act as a liaison between all departments but principally between Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain and will develop knowledge of all products.

You will report to the General Manager and will help with the lead cost reduction initiatives to improve the competitiveness of the business.

Roles & Responsibilities Include:

  • Work to improve the future engineering value-adding developments and initiatives using lean methodologies that will sustain; promote and advance the competitive edge of our processes/ products in the market.
  • Provide engineering leadership/ support for the manufacture of products to world-class standards ensuring that products are built in the safest and most cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Be proficient in Design for manufacturing, FMEA, Process simulation line balancing and project management.
  • Have a proven track record in driving continuous improvement and a passion for new technologies / automation / process control.
  • Act as a resource, providing timely long term engineering solutions, while soliciting the ideas of others and using all available resources in the process.
  • Release the hidden talent of manufacturing employees through engagement and the delegation of ownership.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (metal fabrication).
  • Ability to read and drawings created on Solidworks.
  • Evaluate existing processes and workflows to identify areas that would benefit from changes and improvements;

Skills for the Role:

  • Bachelors Degree (Level 8) Manufacturing Engineering or Degree Equivalent.
  • Understanding of SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Practices
  • Some experience as Manufacturing Engineering with emphasis on manufacturing practices;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well and contribute within a team.
  • Excellent Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication skills.
  • MS Office efficient.
  • Excellent analytical and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Be proactive and positive in work.
