Junior Mechanical Engineer                 Co. Westmeath        

A leading Manufacturing company located in County Westmeath are currently looking for a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding team. The successful candidates will play a key role in the design and development of company production projects.

You will be tasked with providing effective and innovative product and project design solutions to ensure the company remain a market leader within the Robotics and Automation Industry they operate in.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Develop maintain and amend mechanical design drawings using CAD Software packages.
  • Ensure all drawings and designs meet company standards.
  • Support specific projects ensuring timescales and budget requirements are achieved.
  • Produce mechanical designs from concept to production drawings in line with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Design equipment and products for company clients.
  • Liaising with clients and other functional workplace departments to ensure intent is met and drawing approval is achieved as efficiently as possible.
  • Relay information about the status of the project with the senior design team and the project managers.
  • Ensure all health and safety requirements are took into consideration throughout the design process.

Experience and Knowledge for the Role:

The successful individual should have a degree/HND/HNC level of qualification relevant to the role. The company will provide all training that is required for the role to further develop your skills and knowledge and allow you to progress within the company.

The candidate should possess a good understanding of mechanical principles and be competent and confident in all technical aspects of projects.

Skills for the Role:

  • Ability to use 3D CAD Software packages, such as Solidworks (Training will be provided).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well and contribute within a team.
  • Excellent Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication skills.
  • MS Office efficient.
  • Excellent analytical and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Be proactive and positive in work.
