Junior Quantity Surveyor (Civils)
One of Irelands busiest contractors in civil engineering is currently on the lookout for a QS to join the ever-growing commercial team. The role will be of a Junior Quantity Surveyor reporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor.
You will be expected to assist with management of several projects and assist with contracts management. You will also be required to assist with Site Works/Site Meetings/Site duties including capturing changes and variations to contracts and measured works.
Duties
- The role will initially be predominantly focused around the delivery of projects based in Dublin
- Assisting with ensuring robust commercial processes are in place.
- Assisting with a number of live projects or projects at pre-implementation phase.
- Management and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accounts.
- Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement.
- Measure progress, assist in submitting valuations, final accounts in a timely manner.
- Attend project and company related meetings.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties assisting other member of the QS team
Key requirements
- An understanding of Civil Engineering measurement principles
- Commercial awareness and the willingness to learn / be part of a team.
- A basic understanding of all main forms of Contracts.
- An understanding of general IT systems (Microsoft Office suite, Excel.
- An understanding of cost and contract management systems.
You will be joining a team that has doubled in the last year and plan to do the same again over the next 18 months. There will be plenty of opportunity to progress.
