A leading pharmaceutical company located in Dublin is currently looking for a Lead CAD Designer to join their expanding team. The successful candidates will play a key role in the design and development of company projects and products.

You will be tasked with providing effective and innovative medical device and pharmaceutical product design solutions to ensure the company remain a market leader within the industries they work in.

This will be a 12 month fixed term contract.

Responsibilities of the Role:

As a Lead CAD Designer, you will be responsible for producing detailed drawings from the initial surveys and sketches.

  • Oversee the day-to-day 3D CAD Design workload, ensuring targets are met within a timely manner.
  • Oversee other designers, providing support and assistance, and help the team to develop themselves.
  • Design bespoke medical device and pharmaceutical products in relation to company requirements.
  • Comply with engineering codes and standards.
  • Liaise with the production and operations managers on a daily basis in order to identify timescales and requirements.
  • Create accurate production drawings in line with project requirements.
  • Use CAD software to produce detailed designs, including complex 3D models and 2D drawings with parts list, material section and costing.

Experience and Knowledge:

The successful individual should have a degree level qualification relevant to the role. They should have 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, designing medical device/pharmaceutical products. 

The candidate should possess a good understanding of CAD Software’s and be competent and confident in all technical aspects of design.

Skills for the Role:  

  • Extensive knowledge of 3D CAD Software packages.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of individuals.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Be proactive and positive in work.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work to a busy schedule.
