INFORM3 are currently recruiting for a Machine Operator for a highly recognised Manufacturing Company that has vast experience within the manufacturing industry to become part of their well-established team.

This ideal candidate needs to have knowledge and understanding of how to operate the Manual Lathe machine or grinder with the ability to read and understand their specifications and is easily commutable from Limavady and Eglinton.

This role is suited to someone who has 2 years’ experience in calibrating and operating the machine and has worked on materials such as wood and metal.

 

Duties Include:

  • Produce accurate, high-quality precision components from drawings using a Hand lathe.
  • Work to tight tolerances and check your own work meets the required standard.
  • Understand all aspects of the manufacturing process and work on your own initiative.
  • Quality check all finished jobs.
  • Clean and maintain Lathe machine and all associated equipment and machine area.
  • Follow all Health & Safety Regulations implemented by the company and ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Carry out using the lathe machine or grinder to cut, drill and turn materials on wood, metal or glass.

 

 Skills and Experience Required:

  • 2+ years’ experience working as a Lathe Operator.
  • Fully skilled time served setter/operator.
  • Must have experience of setting and operating a hand lathe.
  • Must be able to interpret engineering drawings and follow written instructions.
  • Must have good attention to detail, good practical skills and excellent hand-to-eye coordination.
  • Excellent Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication.
  • Must be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team in a safe manner.
