Job Title – Maintenance Technician

Job Location – Co. Kildare

Salary – €50K - €60K 

 

Role Overview:

Our client company who are based in County Kildare that specialise in the Food Manufacturing sector are now looking to recruit for a Maintenance Technician to join their vastly experienced team.

We are currently looking for a talented individual who has the ability to work in a team environment in order to carry out Maintenance repairs and do routine maintenance on equipment on site.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has a positive hands-on approach and willing to develop their skills and knowledge further.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide maintenance support to the production facility.
  • Carry out wiring installation and commissioning of plant / equipment & trouble shooting on plant and equipment.
  • Perform scheduled and unplanned maintenance of plant equipment.
  • Carry out facility checks which includes meter readings, reports and resolving discrepancies within.
  • Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting & electro-mechanical repairs to a PLC controlled plant.
  • Minimise downtime in production and utility areas.
  • Troubleshoot using PLC Programs/wiring diagrams etc.
  • Technical support for all the plant facilities and services, including compressed air & refrigeration.
  • Fully support the maintenance, shift cover, phone support & callout.
  • Carry out maintenance work orders and requests in a timely and safe manner while maintaining adherence to GMP.
  • Assist the health & safety team in carrying out risk assessments of new & existing machines and ensuring training is rolled out to the Maintenance Team.

 

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant third level qualification in Engineering or time-served Electrician or fitter (Electrical/ Mechanical Qualification/ Mechanical Experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a maintenance role, planned and reactive maintenance skills.
  • Experience in a similar maintenance role within an FMCG industrial plant (food production environment).
  • Have experience of a wide range of Electrical Control Systems, temperature, and PLC/PC Controlled Systems.
  • Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality, Health, and Safety.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Should have good verbal and written communication skills
