Mechanical Design Engineer                                         Galway                                                €30-50K

A leading Automation company located in Galway is currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding team. The successful candidates will play a key role in the design and development of company projects.

You will be tasked with providing effective and innovative automation product design solutions to ensure the company remain a market leader within the industries they work in.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Develop maintain and amend mechanical design drawings using 3D CAD Software packages.
  • Ensure all drawings and designs meet company standards.
  • Support specific projects ensuring timescales and budget requirements are achieved.
  • Produce mechanical designs from concept to production drawings in line with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Design automation equipment for company clients.
  • Liaising with clients and other functional workplace departments to ensure intent is met and drawing approval is achieved as efficiently as possible.
  • Relay information about the status of the project with the senior design team and the project managers.
  • Ensure all health and safety requirements are took into consideration throughout the design process.

Experience and Knowledge for the Role:

The successful individual should have a degree/HND/HNC level of qualification relevant to the role. They should have 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally designing automation equipment.  

The candidate should possess a good understanding of mechanical principles and be competent and confident in all technical aspects of automation.

Skills for the Role:

  • Ability to use 3D CAD Software packages, such as Solidworks.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well and contribute within a team.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Be proactive and positive in work.
