An established and highly regarded Mechanical & Electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join its team in Limerick.
This is an excellent opportunity to take responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical projects across the Munster region, working within sectors including pharmaceutical, healthcare, industrial, commercial and public infrastructure.
The successful candidate will manage projects from initial coordination and procurement through construction, commissioning and final handover. You will have responsibility for programme, commercial performance, quality, safety and client relationships while leading site teams to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of mechanical projects from pre-construction and coordination through to commissioning and handover.
- Plan and manage project resources including direct labour, subcontractors, materials, plant and equipment.
- Develop and maintain project programmes, ensuring key milestones and completion dates are achieved.
- Lead site teams and ensure clear communication of project objectives, responsibilities and deadlines.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, main contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Coordinate mechanical services including HVAC, pipework, plumbing, plant, ventilation, BMS and associated building services.
- Review drawings, specifications, technical submittals and project documentation.
- Monitor construction progress and proactively identify and resolve programme, technical and coordination issues.
- Ensure all installations meet client, contractual and quality requirements.
- Maintain the highest standards of health & safety across all project activities.
- Manage testing, commissioning, snagging and project handover.
- Attend client and project progress meetings and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and supply-chain partners.
The Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years' experience within mechanical project management or a similar project delivery role.
- Relevant Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or trade qualification.
- Strong background within a mechanical or M&E contracting environment.
- Proven experience managing mechanical projects from coordination through to commissioning and handover.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services and installations.
- Commercially aware with a good understanding of project costs, variations and procurement.
- Strong planning and programme management skills.
- Ability to lead site teams, subcontractors and project engineers effectively.
- Confident dealing directly with clients, consulting engineers and main contractors.
- Competent with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Project.
