Job Title – Moulding Technician

Salary – €50K - €60K (Dependent on Experience)
About the Company:
Our client based in North County Cork are currently recruiting for a Moulding Technician to join their expanding team.
As a Moulding Technician you will operate, sets up, maintain, and optimise high-speed plastic blow moulding machinery to manufacture hollow plastic products (such as bottles and containers) while ensuring safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
Duties Include:
- Machine Setup & Operation: Start up, shut down, and configure blow moulding lines, tool changes, and ancillary equipment.
- Process Optimisation: Adjust processing parameters, temperatures, and pressures to maximize output, reduce material waste, and hit OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) targets.
- Fault Finding & Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues using on-screen I/O listings and physical inspections.
- Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Perform routine servicing, clean or realign tooling/heads/blowpins, and support engineering teams during major breakdowns.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect finished products (weight, wall thickness, visual defects, leak detection) and complete production logbooks and traceability sheets.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to Health & Safety policies, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, and site hygiene standards.
Essential Criteria:
- 4+ years’ experience working in Moulding Technician role.
- Hands-on background in plastics manufacturing, extrusion, or injection/blow moulding environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Experience with mould/tooling changeovers, parison control, and setup parameters.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work on your own and within a team environment.
