About the Company:

NPI Engineer will be responsible for the quoting of new business opportunities, the introduction of new parts to production, the reviewing of new products introduced post production, and providing data on the performance of these processes.

You will be working with a company who are a contract manufacturer of precision turned and Milled components, operating predominantly in medical device and aerospace and work closely with their partners on products that enhance the quality of the life.

 

Duties Involve:

  • Accountable for the New Product Introduction process from end to end.
  • Creating the new product details on the NPI stage gate list.
  • Set-up new product through ERP database to ensure all processes are adhered to and recorded during product manufacture.
  • Organizing the review of NPI parts with quality, engineering, purchasing, planning and production teams.
  • Coordinate with operational functions to identify potential inefficiencies or obsolete processes and/or technologies.
  • Continually seek to drive improvements in process design, layout and operational performance.  Drive, support and participate in ongoing continuous improvement projects for cycle time, cost and defect and machine downtime reduction.
  • Ensure compliance to industry quality and environmental standards; develop and implement appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Working with the Operations planning lead to schedule the parts into production.
  • Hosting the NPI stand up meeting reviews where NPI part progress and stage gate list is reviewed.

 

Skills Required:

  • Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background working with CNC machines and robotics.
  • Experience working with and mentoring technicians desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
