An established and expanding specialist construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Construction Planner to support the successful delivery of technically complex projects across a range of highly regulated sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects from concept through to completion. Working alongside project managers, design teams and site teams you will play a key role in planning, monitoring and driving project performance.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project programmes that support successful delivery across multiple live projects. You will work closely with operational teams to identify risks, monitor progress and ensure programmes remain achievable and aligned with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and update detailed construction programmes using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
  • Produce tender, contract and live project programmes
  • Monitor project progress, identifying programme risks, delays and opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, commercial teams and site management to develop practical construction sequences
  • Produce progress reports, look-ahead programmes and programme updates for stakeholders
  • Analyse critical paths and recommend mitigation or recovery strategies where required
  • Support planning during pre-construction, procurement and project delivery phases
  • Participate in project meetings and provide planning expertise throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist with programme change management and delay analysis

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Project Planner within the construction industry
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
  • Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and project controls
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required
