Plant / Service Manager – Coventry

INFORM3 are currently recruiting a Plant / Service Manager to join a large Civils Contractor. The successful candidate will be based in the Coventry area and will need to be flexible with travelling to sites. The client requires a candidate with extensive knowledge of plant, machinery and equipment.

The candidate will need to be hands-on, highly organised and able to effectively respond to emergency situations.

Plant / Service Manager Responsibilities:

• Report to the Senior Management Team
• Day to day management of a busy plant office and workshop
• Working with the office team and site management teams to ensure plant, machinery and equipment are onloaded and offloaded efficiently
• Track plant, machinery and equipment ensuring it is safely stored on site or within the company’s yard
• Conduct regular checks on plant, machinery and equipment
• Identify parts and replacement equipment and source quotes
• Carry out any light maintenance
• Coordinate repairs, ensuring all plant, machinery and equipment leaving the yard is fit for purpose
• Review overall labour and material requirements
• Ensure the plant department operates to the highest standards
• Create, monitor and maintain maintenance schedules
• Establish and manage budgets and targets for assigned areas of responsibility
• Provide regular reports to Senior Management

Plant / Service Manager Specification:

• 5 years or more relevant experience in a similar position
• Previous experience operating and working with heavy plant & machinery
• Strong technical and diagnostic ability
• Able to organise and plan effectively
• Able to work to targets and deadlines
• Able to use Microsoft Office
• Full driving licence
